Choosing your tools
ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity - what they cost, what they’re good at, and which one to start with.
ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot, Mistral - the list of “the AI tool you should be using” keeps growing, and almost everyone telling you which one to pick has a stake in the answer. This session is the honest version. We treat the major tools as a category of products, look at what each one actually does well, and figure out which combination makes sense for what you do. This is for anyone trying to make a decision about which AI tools to invest in - your time, your subscription budget, or both. If you’ve only ever used one tool, you’ll learn what you’re missing. If you’ve tried several and lost track of which is which, you’ll leave with a clear map. By the end of the 60 minutes you will: • Know what each major AI assistant is genuinely best at, beyond the marketing. • Understand exactly what the free tiers give you, and where the paid tiers earn their price. • Have a personal short list of which tool - or pair of tools - to start with for your work and life. • Know how to switch tools later without losing what you’ve built. How the session runs: a quick history of how we got to a dozen competing assistants in three years. Then we go tool by tool - strengths, weaknesses, real pricing, and one practical task we run on each so you can feel the differences. We end with a worked exercise: you pick a tool (or a pair) and we sanity-check the choice together. Bring your laptop. That’s it.
